Peggy Sealy is the police chief of Hattiesburg. She served as assistant police chief from December 2017 until December 2020, when the police chief at the time, Anthony Parker, retired, and she became the interim police chief. On August 17, 2021, the city council voted by a vote of 4-to-2 to approve her nomination as official police chief.[1] She was officially sworn in during a ceremony on October 21, 2021.[2]
