The America Building

The America Building, once known as the Ross Building, is located at the corner of Front Street and Short Street at 201 E. Front Street. The five-story, 27000 square foot building was built in 1907 by Dr. T.E. Ross. [citation needed] It was designed by Hattiesburg architect Robert E. Lee.[1] The famous Hub City sign sat atop this building [citation needed].

Around 2005 a developer spent $2.3 million renovating the exterior of the building and gutting the interior.[2]

On October 1, 2013, a new gym called Bodybar at the America opened inside the building.[3]
