Chuck E. Cheese's
Chuck E. Cheese's (also known as Chuck E. Cheese) is a chain of family restaurants and arcades across the United States. The location in Hattiesburg first opened in 2004 in the former Luby's in the Turtle Creek Mall.[1]It is home to an animatronic of the company's mascot Chuck E. Cheese, like many of the chains used to have. This chain was unique in the fact that it was one of the last locations to have its animatronic figure, but in late 2024, it got rid of it.
Animatronic[edit]
The Chuck E. animatronic at this location is known as a "Studio C V3", also called the "Small-Town Studio C". This means that the figure was installed in smaller locations and has a limited range of movement compared to other animatronics.[2] As of 2026, most locations have lost their animatronics except for a select few "Legacy Stores", but Hattiesburg retained theirs until late 2024, when they were subjected to the same 2.0 remodel most other locations fell victim to.
Decor[edit]
For a long time until 2024, the store had not been through any major remodels, unlike most locations, so it was special for being one of the rare locations in the world to still retain its late 90s-early 2000s decor. The outside still had the company's "Coach Chuck" logo used in the 90s on the exterior and also had interior and exterior decor reminiscent of the "Phase 4" era of the company, which had images of "Avenger Chuck" and other decor of the time. In late 2024, the location was renovated, losing its "Coach Chuck" exterior and much of its "Avenger" interior. This renovation added a Trampoline Zone and Dance Floor. The mall entrance of the store still has a large mural next to it that can only be found at the Hattiesburg location, a remnant of before the remodel.
