Oak Grove school connection[edit]

I've read some accounts online of an Oak Grove school being used by the Air Force as a base of operations while they investigated the crash. It'd be nice to find a source that can confirm that. --LarryM (talk) 10:14, 14 November 2015 (EST)

The Hattiesburg American article confirms this is true. --LarryM (talk) 14:09, 3 March 2020 (CST)

Plane crash location[edit]

The Hattiesburg American article makes it sound like the plane crashed 2 miles south of Highway 98, which would put it near Highway 24. But from other personal accounts I've read it sounds like it crashed just to the east of the main lake, somewhere in the Shady Lane/Beaver Road/Balboa Drive block. I've tried to look at aerial photos from 1960, but I'm not able to see anything definitive in the photos I've seen. --LarryM (talk) 09:24, 4 March 2020 (CST)
