It sounds like back in the day it was a very nice hotel.

This page: http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ms/county/perry/history/forresthistory1.htm says that the spot where Captain William Hardy stopped to rest that day was at the present site of the Forrest Hotel. It'd be cool to somehow confirm that. -- Brad
