US Highway 11 is a north-south federal highway, that currently runs almost 1,650 miles from New Orleans, LA to the US/Canada border in Rouses Point, NY. In Mississippi, as well as Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia, the entire length of Interstate 59 is paralleled with US 11. Like I-59, US 11 follows a mostly diagonal northeast-southwest routing.
Created in 1926, it is part of the original US Highway system. Unlike most of other US Highways designated at the time, US 11 retains much of its original 1926 routing.
