Anthony Parker was the police chief of Hattiesburg. He was sworn in on August 3, 2015 by Mayor Johnny DuPree at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center.[1] He retired at the end of 2020.
Early career
Anthony Parker played football at USM before graduating in 1979. He then joined the Mississippi Highway Patrol and served for 27 years. In February 2010 he joined the Crystal Springs police department, then in October 2013 became police chief of the Crystal Springs police department.
Nomination
The previous police chief, Frazier Bolton, stepped down in early 2015. Mayor Johnny DuPree submitted three nominations to the City Council, which were all rejected. He then submitted a fourth, Anthony Parker, who was approved by a 4-0 vote on June 29, 2015.
